B.I.C. Auctions, Inc. is a family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the auction industry. We specialize in business, industrial and construction auctions. Our extensive experience in the field and vast knowledge of the industry, allow us to get the highest recovery value for our customers’ assets. From thorough preparation of assets to detailed cataloging, you’ll see how our expertise makes a difference long before the day of the sale.

Tom began his career in the auction industry in 1982, after graduating from the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, IA. He spent the first part of his career as an auctioneer, running his own auction company mostly specializing in estate sales. Tom eventually put the microphone down while his kids were young, but remained involved in the construction equipment and machinery industry.

In the summer of 2010, Tom and his son, Austin, started Eastern Iowa Auctions which brought an eBay store and auction services to the Midwest, where they specialized in concrete construction. After two successful years with Eastern Iowa Auctions, Tom decided to focus exclusively on providing auction services to the business, industrial and construction industries.

Eastern Iowa Auctions continues to buy, sell and trade equipment in the Midwest, and B.I.C. Auctions, Inc. was started as a full-service auction company. Tom handles business development, site management and everything in between. Tom’s vast experience, strong relationships and hard-work form the foundation of what B.I.C. Auctions, Inc. is all about.

With an auctioneer as a dad, you could say Abbey, Haley and Austin grew-up around the auction industry. Something in the house was always up for “auction”, as Tom practiced his chant.

Austin has played a crucial role in the family business since a young age. He is very involved in the entire process including lotting and cataloging of inventory, as well as running B.I.C.’s online auction services (BidSpotter) leading up to, and on, the day of the sale.

Abbey and Haley have been clerking auctions for several years and have focused on improving the efficiency of the clerking and cashiering process and providing the exceptional service our customers have come to expect. Like most, they started clerking on paper and have since brought B.I.C. forward to a completely electronic clerking and cashiering process using AuctionFlex. Beyond the day of the sale, Haley is also responsible for financials and customer relations, while Abbey is responsible for marketing and technology.
